Jeffrey B. Burgan

Overview

Mr. Burgan concentrates his practice in intellectual property with an emphasis on patent litigation and client counseling.  As a part of his litigation practice, Mr. Burgan has had significant experience in U.S. Patent and Trademark disputes including interferences, reexaminations, reissues and post grant reviews. He has tried cases to a jury and to the bench. His patent litigation and post grant patent office experience has encompassed such varied technological fields as medical products and pharmaceutical and biotechnology based products, ANDA litigation, paper industry machinery, oil industry equipment and chemicals, electronic commerce kiosks, inks and paints. Mr. Burgan also has experience obtaining and enforcing copyrights and trademarks and he has represented performers, music producers and authors.

Mr. Burgan’s legal education includes training in both the common law and the European Civilian tradition. Prior to attending law school, he spent several years in engineering and management assignments with Texaco, Inc.
