Overview

Mr. Liu focuses his practice in intellectual property law and primarily in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications across a variety of technological areas, including telecommunications, computer software, computer hardware (GPU, CPU, drivers, displays, etc.), automotive and off-road vehicles, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and medical devices.  Having represented many different types of clients, from start-up companies to Fortune 50 companies to University clients, Mr. Liu understands that each client has unique business goals and strives to obtain the best patent coverage based on these goals.

Experience

Mr. Liu has drafted and prosecuted numerous patent applications and works closely with clients to assist them in developing patent portfolios that suits their own business needs.  He also has experience collaborating with foreign associates in acquiring appropriate protection in foreign jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Leydig, Mr. Liu worked at a general practice firm in Chicago.  Before attending law school, he worked as an engineer and manager at a Fortune 200 company.  Through his industry experience, he has gained technical expertise in the manufacturing of food and consumer products.
