Leydig Wins Patent Interference

June 29, 2017

Leydig, Voit & Mayer secured a win at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) involving an interference between a patent application owned by the firm’s client Dr. Karl-Heinz Elmer, and a patent owned by the University of Texas. The PTAB ruled in favor of Dr. Elmer on all issues raised in the interference. As a result, priority of invention was awarded to Dr. Elmer and the claims of the University of Texas patent were cancelled.

Leydig attorneys Wesley O. Mueller, Thomas P. Canty, Elias P. Soupos and Michael J. Brandt handled the interference.
