Mr. Soupos is involved in all aspects of intellectual property practice, with a focus on patents. As a design and development engineer in the automotive industry with experience in control systems, and a graduate degree prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Soupos offers a wealth of business insights and technical expertise in the mechanical, electromechanical, and software arts. His present practice involves preparation and prosecution of utility and design patent applications, litigation, licensing, protection of trade secrets, patent reexamination, acquisition due diligence, and post-grant proceedings under the America Invents Act. He is also involved with client counseling and rendering opinions on patentability, and also on patent validity and infringement.
Mr. Soupos represents clients in various technical areas including automotive components and control devices, engine components and systems, robotics, industrial and construction equipment, mobile phones and accessories, sheet rolling and bending machines, forming and casting machines, burners, building materials, optics, lighting fixtures, aviation components, locks, kitchen and bath fixtures and accessories, laundry machines, seals, rail equipment, medical devices, hand and power tools, oil industry equipment, spray nozzles, filters, tires, game consoles, pool accessories, jewelry, personal accessories, cleaning products and tools, food and cosmetics containers, sprayers, trade displays, cabinets, furniture, and others.
An amateur chef and car racing enthusiast, Mr. Soupos enjoys spending his free time researching and reviving lost recipes from Europe and the Middle East, and participating in many amateur racing events around Chicago. Mr. Soupos also enjoys travelling with his family to experience food and culture around the world, and especially in Greece, where he was raised. He is also currently serving a second term as a Parish Council member of his local Greek Orthodox church.
