CHEMICAL SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR OR PATENT AGENT

Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd. seeks Ph.D. candidates nearing the completion of their studies and thesis defense, recent Ph.D. graduates working in academia or industry, or experienced patent agents to join the firm as a Scientific Advisor or Patent Agent in its Chicago office.  The candidate’s Ph.D. should be in the area of chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, or a related area.  Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, superior academic credentials, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  The ideal candidate will be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a minimum of three years.

The firm will provide training to become a patent agent and an active member of our chemical practice.  Responsibilities will include preparation and prosecution of patent applications and support of patent litigation and client counseling.

SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR (ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER ENGINEERING)

Leydig, Voit & Mayer Ltd., an intellectual property law practice of over 80 attorneys, patent agents, and scientific advisors, seeks a Scientific Advisor for our Chicago, IL; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Alexandria, VA (DC Metro); Boulder, CO; or Frankfurt, Germany offices.

Candidates should possess strong writing/analytical skills, superior academic credentials, and a technical background in electrical or computer engineering, preferably with AI technology experience.  An advanced technical degree as well as experience in the intellectual property field is desirable, but not required.
