Continuing Legal Education
Leydig, Voit & Mayer supports and encourages continuing legal education, and appreciates that associates come to the firm with varying levels of experience and expertise. Through our Percent Account Program, attorneys are given the opportunity to design their own professional development programs based on individual needs and interests. The firm sets aside 1% of an attorney's annual billings to cover the costs of conferences, reading material, memberships in bar and intellectual property organizations, and other educational or client development opportunities.
Leydig, Voit & Mayer also coordinates a monthly Continuing Legal Education (CLE) luncheon, where attorneys conduct seminars in their areas of interest and expertise. The luncheons offer an opportunity to share in, and benefit from, the knowledge and experiences of colleagues in an informal setting, in addition to earning CLE credit. Past topics have included Setting the Stage for Taking Patents to Trial, Drafting Discovery Requests, IP and the Internet, Negotiating with the Examiner, and European Oppositions & Trials.
