Leydig, Voit & Mayer Announces Three New Members

CHICAGO, January 2, 2008 – Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd., is pleased to announce that John L. Gase, Robert T. Wittmann, and Kevin C. Parks have become members of the Firm in its Chicago office, effective immediately.

John L. Gase is involved in all phases of international intellectual property practice with primary emphasis on client counseling, patent prosecution, patent interferences, and litigation in the biological and chemical arts. He attained his juris doctor degree, with honors, from George Washington University Law School and a bachelor's degree, with high honors, in biochemistry from Michigan State University.

Robert T. Wittmann is active in all aspects of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis in patent litigation, prosecution, and counseling in the electrical, computer, and mechanical arts. He received a juris doctor degree, with honors, from DePaul University College of Law in 2000, where he was also inducted into the Order of Coif. He attained a bachelor's degree, cum laude, in electrical engineering from Marquette University.

Kevin C. Parks has significant experience counseling clients and litigating in all areas of trademark and copyright law, including practice in trial and appellate courts, and in proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and U.S. Copyright Office. Prior to joining the firm, he founded and served as president of SOUNDIES, Inc., a music licensing and consulting agency, following his affiliation with intellectual property firms in New York and Chicago, and serving as in-house Brand Counsel to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Mr. Parks speaks and writes regularly on legal issues in the music industry, and teaches coursework in music copyright and licensing as an adjunct faculty member at The John Marshall Law School. He holds a juris doctor degree, with distinction, and a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Iowa.
