Elias P. Soupos Joins Leydig, Voit & Mayer As An Associate
May 9, 2008CHICAGO, May 9, 2008 – Leydig, Voit & Mayer Ltd., an intellectual property law firm, is pleased to announce that Elias P. Soupos has joined the firm as an associate in its Chicago office, effective immediately. He will concentrate in all aspects of the preparation, prosecution, and enforcement of patents in the mechanical, electromechanical, and software arts.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Soupos worked as a design and development engineer for six years in the automotive industry, followed by three years of in-house experience as a patent agent for a major corporation.
A recent graduate of The John Marshall Law School in 2007, Mr. Soupos received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, cum laude, in 2000, from the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 2004, he received his Masters of Engineering Management, specializing in systems engineering and project management, with honors, from Northwestern University. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Soupos currently has a patent pending as an inventor for an exhaust gas control in a two-stage turbocharger and has written an article that was published in the Journal of Micromechanics and. Microengineering. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association (Section of Intellectual Property Law), and the Hellenic Bar Association of Chicago.
Mr. Soupos is fluent in both Greek and French.
