Phillip Pippenger Presents at Patent Litigation Conference

Pippenger, a Member in Leydig, Voit & Mayer’s Chicago office, is set to speak at the Practising Law Institute's Patent Litigation Conference on October 15 at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center. He will discuss the use of Parallel Reexaminations during litigation, focusing on the pitfalls and opportunities presented by the reexamination process, as well as the impact on litigation strategy and tactics.
Mr. Pippenger practices exclusively in the area of intellectual property law, with a focus on IP due diligence, patent procurement, patent evaluation, and IP litigation.
He has in-depth experience in many areas of technology including:
- Green Technologies such as fuel cell, wind and solar power generation and storage, hybrid power systems
- Nanotechnology involving fullerenes and nanotube technology

Having extensive experience in patent evaluation, Mr. Pippenger has rendered numerous opinions and evaluations related to patent validity, enforceability, and infringement, including opinions supporting Rule 11 diligence before filing infringement charges and opinions used as a basis for refuting infringement charges and/or filing successful declaratory judgment actions.
