Frances Jagla Joins Leydig, Voit & Mayer
May 5, 2008CHICAGO, May 5, 2008 – Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd., an intellectual property law firm based in Chicago, is pleased to announce that Frances M. Jagla has joined its Seattle, Washington office as Counsel. She will concentrate in all aspects of trademark, copyright, Internet domain name matters and unfair competition counseling and litigation.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Jagla was a founding member of the Law Office of Frances M. Jagla, PLLC, in Sammamish, Washington. Other experience includes serving as senior corporate trademark counsel at Microsoft Corporation and Abbott Laboratories. She is admitted to the Washington, Illinois, and Indiana State Bars and the Northern District of Indiana.
Ms. Jagla received her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1984, and a B.A. degree in political science from Indiana University in 1981.
Involved in numerous organizations, Ms. Jagla is currently a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) where she has served on several committees including the Board of Directors (2005-2007), the Subcommittee Chair for the Madrid Protocol (2004), the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Secretary (1995-1997), and the Annual Meeting Chair (1997). She is a member of the Board of Directors for MedERRS, a subsidiary of the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (2005-2008). In 2007, she received the Paul A. Welter 1st Annual Award for Excellence in Trademark Law from Merchant & Gould/William Mitchell School of Law, and she served on the Board of Directors for the Pharmaceutical Trade Mark Group in 2004 and remains a member.
