Boris Umansky Joins Leydig, Voit & Mayer As An Associate

CHICAGO, April 16, 2007Boris Umansky has joined intellectual property law firm Leydig, Voit & Mayer as an associate in its Chicago office, effective immediately. At LVM, he will concentrate in all aspects of trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition counseling and litigation.

Before joining the firm, Umansky was previously an associate at Davis McGrath LLC in Chicago. He also spent approximately two years in Washington, D.C., working as a trademark-examining attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

A graduate of the Indiana University School of Law in 2000, Umansky received his undergraduate degree in political science and French from Indiana University in 1997. He is the sole author and publisher of IPLegalLounge.com, a web log that reviews decisions rendered with the Seventh Circuit federal and state courts on trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and related areas.

Umansky is also a frequent author and presenter on intellectual property topics and is currently a member of the Chicago Bar Association (co-chair, Young Lawyers Section intellectual property law committee), Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (vice-chair, Internet law committee), and American Bar Association (section of intellectual property law).
