Three Leydig Attorneys Named in Best Lawyers

Leydig, Voit & Mayer, a Chicago-based full-service intellectual property law firm, is proud to announce that three of its attorneys have been selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®. Selected for this honor in the field of intellectual property law are H. Michael Hartmann and John W. Kozak in the firm’s Chicago office, and Robert V. Jambor in the Rockford office.

H. Michael Hartmann focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, including patent and trade secret litigation, and technology transfer and protection, in the United States and internationally. He has represented clients in courts, trade tribunals, and patent offices in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany and is fluent in German. He obtained a B.S. degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago.

Presently, Mr. Hartmann is the president of the firm and he is a member of national and international professional organizations, including the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Association Internationale Pour La Protection De La Propriété Industrielle, Licensing Executives Society, American Bar Association, Richard Linn Inn of Court, and U.S. Bar-EPO Liaison Council (former Chair). He also participates on the Board of Managers for the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago.

John W. Kozak focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and counseling. He has served as trial counsel involving diverse technologies, including electrical and fiber optic connectors, telephony, television, semiconductors, numeric controllers, software, adhesives, geophysical surveying, food processing, and air filtration. Mr. Kozak received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from Georgetown University. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations.

Robert V. Jambor represents and advises clients on intellectual property matters including acquisition, enforcement and licensing of patent, trademark and other proprietary rights. He participates in litigation of issues involving validity, enforceability and infringement of patent and trademark rights. He also serves as an expert witness in intellectual property lawsuits. Additional activities have included sitting as an arbitrator and mediator in intellectual property cases. Mr. Jambor earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at General Motors Institute (Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan and a J.D. from John Marshall Law School.
