Jeremy M. JayMember Dr. Jay practices law exclusively in the field of intellectual property. He is active in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, and foreign patent oppositions, with particular emphasis in the areas of biotechnology, biomedicine, chemistry, and the mechanical arts. Recent technologies with which he has been involved include cloning and amplification techniques, recombinant antibodies, nucleic acid sequences, proteins, disease detection assays, medical treatments, blood filters, and polymeric membranes. He is also active in U.S. design patent prosecution. Dr. Jay has extensive experience in managing patent portfolios, counseling, and rendering opinions for U.S. and foreign clients on inventorship, patent validity and infringement issues in a variety of technical fields. He has considerable experience in patent oppositions in Europe. Dr. Jay has mechanical expertise in addition to his considerable biotechnical experience. He is a former automobile mechanic, and was certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence in various categories of automobile repair. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Jay was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Robert J. Yock of the United States Claims Court (now the U.S. Court of Federal Claims). Prior to the clerkship, he spent five years as a Patent Examiner in the area of biotechnology for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Professional Affiliations
