Jeffrey B. Burgan
Member Mr. Burgan concentrates his practice in patent litigation and client counseling, as well as interferences to resolve first to invent disputes at the U.S. Patent Office. He has tried cases to a jury and to the bench. He is a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. His patent litigation and interference experience has encompassed such varied technological fields as medical products and pharmaceutical and biotechnology based products, paper industry machinery, oil industry equipment and chemicals, electronic commerce kiosks, inks and paints. His experience also includes obtaining and enforcing copyrights and trademarks and he has represented performers, music producers and authors. Mr. Burgan’s legal education includes training in both the common law and the European Civilian tradition. Prior to attending law school, he spent several years in engineering and management assignments with Texaco, Inc. Professional Affiliations
