Mr. Airan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Marquette University in 1989, and a J.D. degree from Northwestern University in 1993. Prior to joining the firm, he was employed by General Motors as a lead manufacturing engineer and interned with Texas Instruments in the Defense System and Electronics Group. He has also conducted research under a National Science Foundation grant in the area of digital signal processing of speech in noise-corrupted environments. During law school, Mr. Airan was a Note and Comment Editor for the Northwestern University Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He is active in all aspects of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis in patent litigation and prosecution in the electrical and computer arts.
